One Response to The Op-Ed With a Little of Everything

This editorial sums up our plight in Portland, Oregon perfectly! The goal of “gentrification”, land use planning, non-investment in infrastructure, elimination of bus lines in favor of “light Rail”, smart growth high density housing, urban growth boundary, and urban renewal is to eliminate the working class who have been competing, successfully, to be part of the middle class. Portland is seen as a “success” by the government class, and white collar workers, because it serves their long term goal of providing more services that employ more government workers, while serving the white collar class as more become dependent on government. The goal is to not serve those working class who work in the industrial arts, and are put off by the paperwork, and being a computer slave staring at the “blue screen” behind a desk all day!
