Reason #56 to Oppose Rail Transit

The cops at Front Runner are some of the dumbest excuses for law enforcement I’ve ever seen.
Don’t they realize one can download railroad supply information that includes not only pictures of switch machines and other railroad technical equipment, but also fully illustrated diagrams??? Those UTA cops are morons.
Come on O’Toole, this is a very lame excuse to oppose rail transit, because of your cronies over at the Department of Homeland Stupidity.
In San Jose the light rail operator got out of the train and question why I was taking photos.
When Portland’s Max to the Airport opened I was pulled over by transit police for taking photos.
I was threaten to be arrested for quietly handing out fliers(along with a friend) at a public Metro meeting on a light rail line. We were told it is illegal to hand our fliers at a public meeting.
When Portland west side line opened we had a big van painted with “NO Rail” on it. We were threaded with arrest at the opening Photo op. We must have been 100 to 200 feet away but we were told it was illegal to be in the Max parking lot because it is private property.
The last 2 were long before homeland security.
But photos, fliers and protest should not threaten, unless they have something to hide.
Last fall, I sent one of my Planner Techs out to take photographs for a project we were doing. She was taking pictures of architectural styles and was stopped at a building by a security guard & questioned. She is very sharp and asked what law she was breaking, and the rental cop called for backup. She decided it wasn’t worth the brain damage and left.
According to Randal’s logic, this is proof that we should oppose buildings.
What a country we live in – driven by fear. Lord! save us from outrage fatigue!

His supervisor?? I’d tell a rent-a-cop to fuck off, particularly if you’re on public property, e.g., the sidewalk. If one touches me, he gets kneecapped for assault. SELF DEFENSE.
Craig, for what you were doing in Portland, I can understand their reaction, since in that case you were out to cause public disturbance and soliciting.
For your San Jose situation, you weren’t doing any thing wrong.
Please explain how calmly protesting or quietly handing out fliers should bring a threat of arrest.
I live in in Portland where the left takes over sidewalks and the city to do their loud and ofttimes destructive protests.
And are often ignored
Craig, you just contradicted your self here. Your karma, is at odds with your dogma.
Remember the Golden Rule. “Do onto others as you would wish them do onto you.”
Look at it this way, Craig, ROT, CPZ, you can’t keep on cheating the system or else one day the invisible hand will come back and punch you in the face!
